Mother's Day number two was pretty great. Got my boys back from Utah the day before and that basically was the best present ever. More on that in a future or back dated blog to come :) Sunday morning Harv woke up at 7 and I went and gave him a bottle. Usually he drinks and then gets on to playing but that morning he just laid in my arms for like 20 minutes and then fell back asleep. It was precious but also equally weird. But the falling back asleep part was awesome. I held him for awhile because of the precious part and then laid him back down and he slept till almost ten. So I got to sleep in a little more and that was really fun. Then Harvey gave me my presents, a couple of Alex and Ani bracelets - a mom one with a big and little hand and one with an H. He walked over and handed me the box after Tanner told him and it was really cute. Tanner got me some super cute work out clothes which I am very excited about! Our church is at 3 so we mostly got to just hang out for awhile.
I made homemade bread. Always a good idea. Then we wandered over to the park for a walk. We let Harv run around the playground for a little bit. Tanner enjoyed it too.
We snapped a few pics before church. He sort of cooperated.
Harv wouldn't go down for a nap because of his late sleep in. He had a little bit of a rough time at church. I guess considering everything he did awesome. We ended up leaving about a half hour early and he was falling asleep in his car seat before we almost even left the parking lot. I tried to get him to stay up a bit but it wasn't happening. So he went to bed and I made some dinner (and picked something weird that I wanted figuring I could get away with it on that day). It was blackberry basil grilled cheese. Recipe called for fontina cheese but couldn't find it so we tried Gruyere and some Jarslberg?? On homemade bread. They. We're. Amazing. Oh man. So good. And Tanner even loved them too.
And it's ok. Because all the good times make anything hard about motherhood so worth it. It is my favorite thing I've ever done. Ever. I won't do a big long mushy gushy mom love thing. I think that sums it up. There is nothing more rewarding or worthwhile than this job and I am so "no-adjective-to-quantify" grateful for this chance to be a mom and especially our little Harvey's momma. Amen.
Those sandwiches look amazeballs!! Glad you had a good Mother's Day!
