I just can't believe this little guy is 5!! That just seems like a significant age. Kindergarten this year and then just up and onward from there. He's so fun. He's such a spaz. He's so smart. He loves to play and is VERY into toys. He likes school and learning but usually on his own terms. Kind of hard to keep him focused ;) He's a great big brother. Oh my heck he can pull out the most incredible, thoughtful sweetness ever. He is a tease, but has a huge heart. He still likes a sippy of warm milk in the mornings and afternoons with a story. We miss some sporadic days, but we haven't been able to totally kick the habit. He is such a joy to be around and to raise. Can't wait to see what passions develop in him and where he goes in life.
We got to take in treats and a little poster board about him. The girls came to help. My kids are so shy. He gets silly when he gets uncomfortable in front of people.
The Saturday before his birthday was his birthday party. He decided he wanted it to be at the Layton Classic Fun Center and the guest list stayed the same for months. Payne, Peyton (older brother of a kid in his preschool class last year), Crew (best friend in his preschool class this year), Benjamin and Grant (friends from school last year).
We had unlimited skating (scooting), bounce houses, laser tag, jungle climbing thing and some tokens for the arcades. It's a big place and lots of movement so these are the best pictures I got. Everyone had a great time! It was so fun. Only one minor injury - Crew fell scooting and the handlebar hit his armpit. I'm grateful no one broke an extremity!
Lottie LOVED the skate floor. Oh man. She loved running around and was dancing like crazy. It was awesome - but tiring - trying to keep her protected from getting run over.
Ordered pizza that wasn't good and people hardly ate. Luckily it was only $9.
Deciding what piece he wanted.
Lottie used about 10 tokens - just rode this over and over and over. It probably lasted a full minute each time too. She wasn't happy about getting off either.

Check out Greta's face in the back. Haha. |
He was pretty nervous about going in here to grab tickets. He was more willing to go in with Payne but still pretty much froze.
His birthday was Monday. Tanner and I actually were scheduled to head out for Yellowstone. So we did his present (tried to tone it down this year because he is plenty spoiled and he got his bday party). He was pretty excited. Then we went to Sill's for breakfast because he wanted a scone!
We did his birthday interview while we were waiting for the food. I thought I'd add a little clarification and extra reality to it :)
He is probably best friend's with Crew right now - but I love so much that he said his sister. He and Greta have really been doing so good playing together but Greta can be quite the pest so it's not always happy. Harvey can cause his own fair amount of issues too, though. The egg on upstart (his online preschool thing) is just a part of the science/math part that he rarely does but it shows how his little chick is developing over time. He also likes learning about dinosaurs, sharks, anything that has a video on youtube, etc. He still loves cereal and bologna sandwiches. Cream of wheat has risen to the top of a favorite food list. He requests it a lot - and for any meal. He has slowed on reading the "fire truck book". That used to be a daily thing but in the last month or more we've only read it a few times. He sometimes drinks his milk without a book and changes it up more now too. My baby is growing up! He is really into transformers right now! REALLY! So that's pretty accurate. And he can write his name WAY better than that. He just was being a stinker.
After breakfast and Greta's dance, we took off. My mom stayed to watch the kids and they gave him his presents that night and sent us some pictures. He was a HAPPY boy!
We LOVE this kid!!!
