New Years Eve

We got new sleds for Christmas and it actually snowed a decent amount before New Years Eve. We scoped out a few places and found some good hills. A little barren and a lot crowded but it was tons of fun. There were a few tears had but mostly the kids just loved it. The sleds were awesome. I got some great videos of Harvey going off a jump with some friends he made. And some good videos of riding on the sleds. I just can't figure out how to upload them right here. They are tucked somewhere else - but we got some fun pics too. It was a pretty fun little outing!

Misc December

Our advent calendar and all Christmas decor was stuck in storage so we weren't able to do that. But I tried to squeeze in a few Christmas activities along the way - between working and Moab, etc. I feel like I kind of failed on Christmas stuff this year. We didn't do a lot of spiritual/service things like I try to incorporate or focus on. Next year 😕
I was off the first of the month and so we rung in the month with a trip to Sill's for scones and hot chocolate and then walked around the lights at Layton park. My parents came and it was so fun. We watched the Grinch after. Perfect December first.

Lottie went to Foto Fly with her preschool class to get pictures with Santa. They turned out so dang cute. It came in the mail as a Christmas card and is saved in her folder :)

Then off to Bowmans for donuts. Jessica (Boston's mom) took her while I ran back to get Greta from dance.

I saw online about a Gingerbread House competition thing it a Bountiful art museum, that was $5/kid. I had never heard of it and decided it would be a fun little something. It actually was fun. They had a few gingerbread houses people had submitted and a story time and pictures with Santa (Greta is the only one that would sit) and a craft. It was cute.

They emailed the pics from a camera they were taking. Pretty terrible but oh well.

Logan's birthday party.

I love her art.
And I LOVE this picture!
Learning to be self reliant.
This was a super fun night too. Walking around this little park in Kaysville with a ton of blow up things. The kids loved it. Their favorite was all the laser lights on the ground - trying to jump over them and not get "hit" by them. It was awesome.

Got to go in and watch what Greta has been learning in tumbling too. Pretty fun. I can't believe how those little bodies fall and twist and land and don't get broken and hurt. I would be dead. And paralyzed.

First big snow!!!

We got the kids teachers little gift cards for Christmas. This is the note wrote for his teacher. So flipping funny.
Cute pics from Ms. Gilbert that I stole from instagram :)

Berrie made this AMAZING quilt for us for our birthday's. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It's so awesome!

Tanner wanted to go skiing WITH ME! for his birthday. We got a free pass from his work and went up. Holy cow. It was so fun. I always forget how much I love skiing. It was kind of a cold and busy day but it was so much fun hanging out.

Clare and Berrie watched the kids and then we ended up eating dinner with them after.
One of the pics he took and sent me a different ski day.

My cute birthday card Greta taped on the door for me in the morning. It's my favorite.
I tried to take the kids sledding on my birthday. It was kind of icey but still fun. I also went and got a massage that day. Glory. And then we went to the movie theater with my parents to see Encanto and got dinner after and ate turtle pie from Baskin Robbins. Yum.

Laura C gave this to me for my birthday. Super fun puzzle to do and it's super cool. All wooden pieces in really cool shapes. Lots of animal shapes hidden in there.
First week of the break I reserved the cultural hall at the church and invited some friends. Just to have a wide open space to play. It was really fun.

Oh - the church thing happened to be Heather's birthday and then she called to see if I could got get a pedicure with her. Laura C kept my kids for a minute while I ran up to do that. It was lovely.

Except I had the wrong pants on for it. SOOO tight and next to impossible to pull down after. Heather tried helping me and we were really struggling with the second one and so the guy said he could help. Oh man. So dang funny.

Laura my sister watched the girls while we went skiing with Harvey. I don't know why this picture loaded so blurry. I need to try and redo it.

It was Harvey's first ski of the season and he had some lingering nerves from last year. He was nervous to go and kept declaring that he wasn't going to do the gondola. He just wanted to stay on the bunny hill. After 1 run on that I think he realized it actually wasn't that exciting so he picked a different lift to go on. That was super cold and slow. But Tanner pointed out that that hill we could get to from the gondola. He did great going down and then we went up the gondola. He was really doing good and liking it. We took him down one non groomed hill where he fell once and kind of teared up and said he didn't want to do it anymore. But then we ran into some of Tanner's buddies from work and did a run with them and they were SO motivating. Like you're awesome Harvey, you can do it, killing it, etc etc. It changed him. Same thing happened when we went down with Mitt and his friend Payson. Harvey idolizes both of them. I made him wreck on one hill but he got back up and handled it. And then was begging Tanner to take him again. They've been going on Saturday's and Harvey has been loving it and getting SO much better and is actually willing to challenge himself and try new things. It was a complete 180 and I'm so grateful for those boys that helped and motivated him. It made such a big impact on him.

A little late but I got my birthday tradition of skiing up Millcreek with Brooke in. It was everything I hoped it would be and more. One of my favorite places with one of my favorite people. Heaven.
