Misc August

I feel like there were a lot of significant things that got rolled into our August. Firsts of schools and soccer and broken bones, etc. Definitely an exciting month. We'll start out with a sequence of Lottie being so dang adorable with Harvey. She was trying to walk across the bench in front of him and then just decided to sit on his lap. It surprised Harvey and then they were just being too cute. So I took pictures.

Our AC went out too. Perfect time for it as well. So it was like 85+ degrees in our house after church. So the sabbath activity turned out to be running through sprinklers in underware. We slept a couple of nights at Clare and Berrie's because it was insufferable.

We love playing at Lucy and Crews! These girls are so cute together.

Lost his 3rd tooth and first top one.

We had a couple of funerals too. My uncle Steven passed away. So Harvey joined us for the funeral cause he was seeming a little under the weather and I didn't want to leave him with a babysitter. So we took him and exposed 10 times as many people. Oops. We went to Leatherby's after because that's what we do! Lucille, Uncle Steve's mom passed away about the same time and I went to that funeral too. One of Tanner's good family friend's passed away also from a brain tumor he was diagnosed with less than a year before. We went to the viewing and Tanner went to the funeral.

I've never been a soccer mom! It is all very exciting to me and Harvey was pretty stoked about the gear Dad took him to get!

I hate it when Lottie does this before I leave for work. I guess all the kids went through similar things and still have their moments, but man it makes me sad.

There goes the other part of his two front teeth. I pulled it out and it left a little weird thing that I didn't know what it was and I thought I had really messed up, but I contacted the dentist and sent a picture. They said I could take him in and they could pull it out or just wait. He didn't seem bothered by it and so we waited and a few days later it was gone.

Greta took this selfie and I think it's beautiful because I love her eyes and so artistic.  Haha. But she is beautiful.

A little luncheon at the park after Rory's baby blessing :)

Before school started Brooke and her kids made the trek up north and we all went to the Airforce Museum. It was pretty fun. Harvey really is into planes. Lottie and Greta are into running around. So it worked out fine ;)

Our token Cherry Hill day. We went for free because it was Davis' work party. Heather came soon after we got there and used Tanner's pass since he couldn't get off work. It was so fun. And the kids posed this themselves. I was dying and so happy it turned out so perfectly!

Harvey's first soccer game! Woohoo! They lost but he made their teams only goal. It is a little painful to watch but it was fun. I feel like I've reached a new, official level of parenting now :)

Harvey's FIRST DAY OF KINDERGARTEN! Oh my heck. I can't believe it. It was August 20th. Seemed pretty early. He was so excited to go and was asking about recess and all sorts of stuff. All smiles before we walked in and then he saw all the kids and all the chaos of parent's dropping kids off and he got REALLY nervous. He grabbed onto me tight and didn't want to stay and it was a little heartbreaking. I worried about him all day but hoped he would end up liking it. He was ALL smiles when I picked him up. Phew. He had a great day!

One day while he was in school we went for a little stroll with my friend from the ward, Ashley Stenquist. I didn't take any pictures of us, but the kids were being pretty cute.

This outing was a mistake. We were going to go to the gym but kind of ran out of time and I had kind of mentioned Burger King because they had some toys that the kids wanted and this makes me sound like I totally spoil the crap out of them. But anyway - I last minute decided to go take them there to do something fun before I had to work etc. Well - Lottie and Greta were both awful. Harvey threw a HUUUUGGGE fit about them not having the toy he wanted 5 minutes after we had a talk about that being a possibility. I mostly just wanted to murder all of them and I was in the worse mood. They eventually all snapped out of it and Harvey started climbing up this pole and I was impressed with his monkey skills and we all left in better moods. Me sort of better. Ugh.

We got a tramp. Curse the tramp. But I also love it. We set it up on the grass thinking we'd put it over where the garden is. This is the first night and I felt like it was worth it no matter what with how excited they were about it and over the next few days. Then we decided to put it in the ground thinking it wouldn't be too big of a deal. WRONG-O. That is a story for next month :)

Just a cute girl asking me to take her picture.

Talking on a sticker phone that came with her Minnie Mouse purse/phone set. "Heyyo. How ya doin t'day?"

More soccer. He gets into it and plays hard and I really enjoy watching him. He's the cutest.

So actually, the morning before the above soccer game I went for a  quick run. When I came back Lottie was sitting on Tanner's lap SOO sad and just inconsolable. Apparently she had fallen in her room while I was gone. Tanner said she really screamed. We thought she hurt her arm. She kept pointing to her left arm but every time I pushed on it she seemed fine. She would cry trying to push herself off the ground and was just an overall mess. But then she seemed to be a little better and so we took her to the soccer game. I brought her home and put her down for a nap and then this was her after waking up. We went outside for a little bit and I put her on the tramp and she was just freaking out. Just really uncharacteristic. So then I started pushing on her again and she seemed to have some pretty reproducible pain in the right wrist area. So, long story short I talked to a few docs and drove her and Greta out to the Roy ER where they shot a quick xray of her arm.

Buckle fracture of both bones. Ugh. No wonder she was miserable. So I put a splint on her and then realized maybe we needed a longer one and so I stopped at Davis on the way home and put her in a long arm splint.

She was a little trooper. Poor thing. When we got home she said "bandaid off now!" But the splint really seemed to help with her pain. She was much happier from then on out - I did finally give her some medicine too. Oi.

Then little miss Greta had her first day of preschool!!! Oh she's been so excited about it. and she was sooo cute wearing her backpack and going in. She was so brave. This girl is amazing. I love her so much. She seemed to love the first day and has loved it ever since. So grateful for that!

Lottie's first art project - she did it at the gym one day when the other kiddos were at school.

Getting her cast on! I helped hold etc and Harvey took a few pictures. She didn't cry or fuss at all during the whole process. She picked purple - despite a lot of pushing from Harvey that she wanted green :)

She asked me to take this picture one day when we dropped Greta off. Soon enough, little one :)

Aunt Shirley drove all the way up to hour house to decorate her cast for her. She showed her some fairy's and unicorns etc as options and she picked the froggy. So cute. I loved it. The picture above looks so plain and boring to me after getting to look at her decorated one for 2 weeks.

Tanner and I went to Sting. My parents watched the kids for us. It was so so so much fun. We had a great time together. The weather was awesome. The music was great. The symphony played some stuff for an hour and then Sting sang accompanied by the symphony for almost 2 hours I think and he told some cool stories about his songs and it sounded great and just the whole ambiance of Usana and the live music, etc. It was a really happy night!
