Silver Lake

This was the best thing we could have chosen to do with our day. Brooke and my schedule's aligned and so we decided to try to get some more mountain time in at Silver Lake. Oh it was glorious. The skies at home were so smoky. But when we got up there it was slightly cloudy but beautiful blue sky. Kind of windy and chilly at first but jackets were perfect. The last time I was up there was about a year ago when Lottie was only a few weeks old. We barely made it around a quarter of the lake. Yesterday we had happy, capable hikers and we took our sweet time and had SO MUCH FUN! I loved it. The kids loved it. It was everything I hoped it was going to be and more.

Alec showing them how to hold a caterpillar. I don't think Harvey would have picked it up if it weren't for Alec. Then they were fighting over who got to hold it. Haha.

Oh I love these kids...
We dropped an apple piece along the way, and then Harvey realized he had left his super duper special stick and so we had to go back to find it. We came across this little guy who had come across our apple and was pretty stoked about it.
Talk about a cute kid...and INCREDIBLE scenery!

I cut Harvey out of this one just cause these 2 cute littles looked so precious next to each other.

There's Harvey. Pretty cute with all of them, too.

She was exceedingly happy when she got a little freedom and didn't have to be toted around the whole way.
HAD to take shoes off and play in the water. I love it.

We got done and I wasn't ready to leave. Kids were ready for naps but the weather was so heavenly and we had driven so far to get there, it seemed sinful to already leave. So, on the way down my crew stopped to throw rocks in the water while Lottie slept (a little) in the car. We could have stayed a lot longer but leaving felt more acceptable after that :) They kept trying to throw the biggest rocks they could find in the water, until Harvey dropped a big one on his toes. Oops. It was ok, and we kept playing for a bit and it was heaven.
