We started our day first day of June with an early morning park visit. Trying to beat the heat. We love playing with cousins!
The next day we met friend Laura at Classic Water Slides. I had never been there and it was far more ghetto than I was expecting. I scared Greta the first slide we went down. Went a little too fast on the mat and kind of fell off. So she was done. Lottie LOVED all the slides and kept wanting to go down them. The boys were in heaven and just did loops by themselves the whole time. I did take Greta down towards the end of the day...I convinced her to let me try...and then she didn't want to be done and Lottie wanted all the turns too. We needed one more adult. Luckily Lucy wasn't interested in any of the slides so Laura was a saint to keep watch when I'd go down with one or the other.

I had to leave all these pictures of the boys in because they all are cute and funny. Harvey just lounging...enjoying the life.
And then some boys found a snake by one of the slides and brought it up to by where we were sitting and Harvey thought it was so cool and they let him have a turn holding it. His first time ever holding a snake :)
We had a week in Park City that my dad reserved for us long before Covid. For awhile I didn't even think we were going to be able to go. But then the hotel opened but not the pool. I called every week for a few weeks before hoping it was going to be open. It seemed promising that it would be by the time we went up but then it wasn't. My parents were up the Saturday and Sunday. No pool, no hot tub, and the weather sucked that weekend and the first part of the week. So we still went up and tried to have some fun but it kind of was a bust. We just watched movies for most of the first day because it was too cold to do anything else. And so much was closed because of Covid and being right next to a pool and not able to use it was torture.
We tried the ski museum...but the main reason Harvey loves that place was a little game that they had shut down. Stupid covid.
My parents stayed the day and first evening with us and we whipped this bad boy out in a pretty short amount of time.
Kids were kind of ornery and whiny and hard and so then I got grumpy. We had just gotten the dog and apparently he pooped all over the kennel. So I decided to leave a couple of days earlier than planned. No point in just sitting in watching movies when we could be home doing more and playing with friends. We did get to a few parks the day we decided to leave. And we spent a few hours at a mtn bike park too that Harvey LOVED. He was killing it too.
After this park we went back, ate lunch, hung out a bit and then packed up and drove to two other parks and then drove home that evening.
Swim party at mimi's. Or just us asking if we could go over and swim :)
Wrestling with our neighbor's son in law, Mason. He's a good time with the kids!
It's all worth it now! Grass and a tramp and HAPPY kids!
Don't mind the chins. Cute little cuddly butt. |
We got my piano a couple of years ago and never got it tuned. So it was needing that but a few months ago it started doing some weird reverberating damper pedal issue and I finally pulled the trigger and called a guy to fix it. He was super nice and it sounds one thousand percent better! I'm so happy about it!!
Another friend play date - Stockton and Morgan came over and the kids had a great time! Lottie and Morgan played so good together. Greta always wants to play with the boys :)
The only pic I took from a visit we took up to Smithfield to spend the day with Carrie and kids. It was so lovely. The kids played awesome and had a blast! We had fun chatting, which we rarely get to do. Harvey rode the electric dirt bike and decided he has to have one of those now. And everyone was all over Bogey and his adorableness.
So, I have a little sugar problem/eating disorder :) And one random day I asked my dad how much he would pay me if I went 100 days without sugar. Long story short he said he'd pay me $300 and Tanner chipped in that he'd pay me $100. So I had some motivation. I have been probably eating more chips and other things that aren't necessarily healthy but it has been really good for me. I haven't been pounding sugar at work or at home like usually and haven't gone to bed hating myself every night. So it's a win. And we discovered a really delicious ice cream alternative and I've had quite a few of these. Frozen fruit with some cream and milk and greek yogurt. And it makes a beautiful flower of thick creamy goodness. Pineapple with a little bit of mango and some coconut flavoring (sometimes a bit of cream cheese instead of the yogurt and a pinch of sugar free sweetener) and it is just as good as a real shake...well at least it's been long enough without one that this one will do the trick!
We had a fun day celebrating Rory's first birthday! Laura made it so cute.
She is so cute.
She was not a fan of the cake. Kind of a let down of a cake smash, haha. But there were plenty of little people standing by to help devour the cake!

Breakfast on the patio. Dreamy. And then breaking it in with the fire!

Our family plus one. I can't remember who she said was the extra. And Bogey far left. |
We were running some errands and had to take something back to Clare's shed. I just thought Lottie looked so cute with her hair in a pony and these little shorts, I just wanted to preserve the memory so I tried taking a few little pictures. She always goofs off and makes silly faces for pictures. Greta couldn't let the opportunity pass by for her to get her picture taken. She's a perfect little model and poser :) Cutest girls ever.
Such a mean mom for making him do A worksheet in the summer. #eyerollemoji
Anniversary!! Happy 9 years to us! We had a great day! Got to go get massages together and then glorious pedicures. Then Carson and Nat were awesome and offered to watch the kids so we could go out to eat. We went to Fat Fish in Bountiful and got some KILLER sushi! We splurged and it was so good! We tried to go shopping at Farmington Station but thanks to covid, everything closes crazy early. So that was a bust. But we had a really fun day/night! Finished it off with a nice sit and chat by our fire :) And a smoothie of course. Love him.
