Some Spring St. Geezy

We skipped out of town  April 20th to head down to St. George for a few days cause I had a couple of days off in the week and wanted to get another trip in down there before it got too hot. It was actually kind of cool and windy while we were there but it didn't stop us from having a great time! Lots of parks and hiking and swimming! Harvey REALLY wanted to do a skate park and when we got to the one there, he was too nervous to try anything. But then I forced him to try something and then he realized it wasn't too scary and he couldn't be stopped after that!

I decided I wanted to go to Zion's. It had been forever since I'd been there and I figured it was a good day to try. Middle of the week and not spring break and not summer. It was still plenty crowded but it worked out great. It was a beautiful day. My kids did awesome on the first hike (Emerald Pools) and it was just INCREDIBLE being there. I forget how amazing and breathtaking that place is. Our shuttling worked out perfectly too. We never really had to stand in line too long to wait. Kids got tired and were pretty whiney by the end of the day, but it was so great. So happy I went!

We tried to go walk to the mouth of the narrows or whatever. They were PRETTY tired by then so we didn't make it all the way. We stopped and threw rocks and Harvey played in the sand and the chipmunks got up close and personal!

We swam again that night. And the next day we just hit up all the parks in town basically.

Then we went back to the condo, had snacks and swam for a little while longer. Then went to Dixie Rock! A can't miss favorite now! It was perfection. Beautiful weather and just so much fun with kids. They love doing it and just clamber over everything and feel so proud of themselves along the way. We did have a couple of crash and burns but overall it was perfection.

This little pit stop was not my favorite. It felt just like a big waste of money. The kids had fun but man the arcades just SUCK the money down in no time flat. Harvey wanted to do laser tag SO bad but I couldn't do it with him with Lottie so Greta was awesome enough to do it with her. They had fun. But then we were trying to decide what else to do and we did mini golf with some whining from Lottie. And then they wanted to go back and do laser tag but G didn't want to but she ended up going but cried cause she was nervous. So the guy had to help her (They were the only two in there again) and it was really nice of him but just dumb. Then they wanted to do bumper boats but Harvey's items were done and I didn't pay to go do it myself so just Lottie and Greta went out on one by themselves and she couldn't figure out how to steer it and so they just sat out in the middle and spun around in a circle and cried. It was stupid. And I felt grumpy and annoyed at the whole experience. Oops. I think they sort of had fun for the most part.

Greta really wanted to go back to this aquatic center so we did that for a couple of hours. It was actually pretty fun and Greta realized going down the slide by herself was pretty fun. So we did that about 100 times. And Harvey made a little girl friend while we were there so he was pretty happily entertained while I played with girls.

Then we went back and cleaned up and did laundry and loaded up and drove home. They did great in the car. It was a fun little trip and I love hanging with them (most of the time!). They are getting pretty fun to do stuff with and I do love that!
