Harvey's baptism

We've got an 8 year old! That's so crazy. I feel like baptism was always just so far away and down the road - like for people with older kids. And then all of the sudden we have one of those older kids. I wanted to get more professional (my dad) photos but life was crazy and schedules are hard and so we stopped at the temple one morning on the way to church to take some pics. But it was COLD and he wasn't too interested in it and I'm not a photographer and all I had was my phone camera. Oh well. We got one really good one for his invite ;) And he's dang good looking!

We were going to do it at the Stake Baptism in February but then thought we might be moving around that weekend and that maybe it might be less stressful to do it in March and we'd be in our house and it would just work out smoothly. Well, we weren't in our house by February and it ended up being kind of a hectic time to have it but it worked out just fine. More stress was had than was necessary. Baptism was at our stake center at 3pm and then we went to our ward building after for a little dinner. I have the program saved I think...but it was in the chapel - accounting for two people in our ward getting baptized and lots of family. Although no one sat near the front and it felt too impersonal and Harvey got a little distracted. I wish we could have had it in a smaller room but that's ok. The other girl had a family member talk on baptism. Some cousins sang Be What I Believe which is Harvey's favorite primary song. It was pretty cute.

Cousin Mitt baptized him which Harvey thought was pretty cool. My dad confirmed him. Our bishop, Bishop Rindlisbacher conducted. He's so great. We love him. Carrie ended up playing the piano on the fly because Laura and her family were super sick. So sad.

But it all turned out just great. And he didn't have much to say about it other than he was happy the water was warm. Haha. Hopefully the significance of baptism and sacrament and all that good covenant making makes sense and sinks in a little more later ;)

I didn't do a great job of documenting everyone there. Kathryn and Nick and Evelyn were in town (for her blessing the next day) and so Kathryn and Evie came up. Ben and his kids were there. It was just lovely. We're so grateful to be close to family and have them close to love and support us and our kids. Proud of our Harvey!
