Misc June

Between me being in Arizona and us having a Mexico vacay - we still ended up with a decent amount of pictures. We got North Shore passes this year - the aquatic center near here. The Wurm's took them the first day of summer basically because Bella was helping tend while I was gone. We haven't used it as much as we should have. It's SO crowded and so I don't think we'll get passes next year, but it has been fun. Definitely more fun with friends.

We had a little start of summer party with some friends from Jefferson. It was fun. Not as many people came as we invited but it was nice that way. Kids seemed to have fun. Lottie didn't seem to be feeling the best.

We did that, then went to my friend Summer's pool for a short bit - super awesome and fun. Kids swam about 30 minutes while we chatted, then we went to the Niederhauser reunion pool party in Farmington. Fun in the sun day for sure!

Our Desert Star night :)

I don't even remember why we were out and about on this walk, but the girls wanted to take some pictures. I deleted about 50 that Greta took of random flowers and bushes and houses but saved some of these goofy fun ones.

Tanner picked this little guy up while I was in Arizona :) It was an approved purchase though. It's pretty sweet. I'm happy to be a truck owning family again.

Laura took the girls to the Illume dance Narnia production and Tanner took Harvey and Jack to sushi (Jack's dad just passed away from cancer. Tanner was pretty good friends with him and family from skiing). Sad stuff.
Tanner took the kids to the air force museum one Saturday. Tanner told me Harvey said he told him he missed me but was kind of glad I was gone because they were getting to do all this fun stuff with dad :)

For our 11th Anniversary I got tickets to a Symphony concert at Snowbasin. It was a patriotic thing and was SO good and so fun!

Mexico Part 2

I think this was just a little walk we did after our outside of the hotel dinner from the last post.

There was rain almost every day but usually didn't start until later in the evening or during the night. One time it DUMPED and Greta went out and played in it. The next day the rain came pretty early in the afternoon and we were out in the pool when it was coming down. The girls were dancing around in the rain on the little platform in the middle of the pool. It was pretty fun being in a warm swimming pool in a downpour. That doesn't happen very often.

Another evening out on the town :) We went to Tony's for dinner. We had heard good things about it and people weren't loving the the food in the hotel. It was super fun and sooo delicious and cheap for the giant shrimp we got!

We went to a few shows in the evenings. A couple were good. One was pretty risque and scandalous and we ended up leaving pretty soon after it started. Greta loved the shows the most. We did have a lot of long play days and late nights so we did have some emotional moments during the trip, but overall, the kids were awesome and it was just heavenly.

Greta really figured out how to swim while we were here. She knew how but was too nervous to do it where she couldn't touch. I don't know what happened but I guess she just trusted herself and then realized she could do it and then was just a swimming machine. She did awesome!
Oh and drinks all day every day. They figured out the ones they liked and would go to the bar time after time requesting what they wanted.

This was my other highlight. 90 minute massage on the beach with the breeze and sounds of waves. All for $30 each. Holy crap it was AMAZING. I wish we would have done that a couple more times!

Father's Day breakfast! I worked hard on this one :) What a beautiful morning!

We rode with Mason and crew into town for church then took a bus to the shopping center to get our souvenirs. And had a yummy (Much more spendy lunch) that day. I played the piano for them in sacrament and one of the songs was one I had never heard and I mucked it up real bad, but oh well.

Greta spotted this alligator in the water! Pretty cool!

Family picture time. I think we waited too long and didn't go to the beach right away so by the time we got to the beach we were about out of day light. I was soooo grumpy after this. Lottie was being the biggest butt and wouldn't cooperate and I just wanted to get some good pictures while we were there. She was being so awful and then I just felt so super gross and so unhappy with the pictures and how I looked it put me in a bad funk and place. Luckily it didn't last into the next day. We got a few decent ones I guess...

Monday we went snorkeling. The kids were excited to try it and I wanted them to try it. I was nervous they were going to freak jumping into the ocean away from shore and with all the fishies around them. They did so good. I was really proud of them. They actually got in and wore the masks and put their faces in the water and breathed through the snorkel. I held Lottie's hand and she was even pointing things out to me underwater. It was amazing - like holy cow - we are almost to a point where we really can start doing some fun adventures with them! It didn't last long. They all got kind of spooked as we got back close to the boat and there were a lot more fish right by us and I think there were little tiny jelly fish or something because Harvey and I both noticed little stinging pinchy sensations. So they all got out and we stayed in a little longer and our guide caught a puffer fish which was awesome. He blew right up. It was cute and kind of sad watching him swim away and slowly shrink after he released him. It made me want to go scuba diving so bad!

Running out of time. We squeezed in a little more beach and ocean time Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning before we had to leave.

Oh, and last show - acrobatic stuff which was cool and the kids all liked. I thought it was cool too!

Last day! So sad.
Had to get one more ice cream cone. Gosh they probably had like 3 a day at least the whole time we were down there!
Tired, worn out, happy, tan kids!

And to end - my nasty arm disgusting progression. Ugh. That was theee worst. I slept so awful most of the time there due to HORRIBLE itching. Like the absolute worst, most intense itching and burning misery I've ever experienced. It was so awful. So grateful that the medicine started working and I was able to enjoy the trip.

This trip was amazing. It was so fun to be with the kids. They were mostly really good and it was fun to be able to have some adventures and also not have to work so hard to keep them entertained. They could be a little more independent. The resort was so fun and we also had a good mix of doing some other things as well which I thought was just all a perfect blend of everything. I am so happy we got to go and make these memories with our kids and Tanner's family. Grateful to be a part of that crew!
