Disney part 1

Tanner and I went back and forth for a couple of months trying to decide if we wanted to go somewhere in the fall. We talked about San Diego or somewhere else in California vs Florida vs several other options vs nothing at all. I thought we had kind of decided nothing until I chatted with someone about Disney and she said they stayed in a Hilton hotel close by, etc. etc. So then I started looking at what I could get with my Hilton points and the rest was history. Santa gave the kids their tickets a little earlier - although in hindsight that probably wasn't the best option. Santa travel gifts need to be after Christmas :) I used points for the hotel, Tanner had plenty of PTO, we rented a car and got the tickets. The kids knew a few weeks before we were leaving. Just enough time to get super excited and look over the map on my phone over and over again but not too much time that it was annoying. We left on November 12th. So exciting riding on an airplane!!

We got into LA a little late and had a decent drive from the airport. But by the time we got to the hotel, kids were awake, excited and hungry! We got some food credits every day so we ordered some pizza and chicken strips and while we waited for food we went and swam. Well, the girls did and Harvey lasted about 2 minutes. Pool was heated but it wasn't super warm outside!

The next day was Sunday and they were so mad that we still had to wait another day till Disney! We all went to church and ended up in a sacrament that was having their primary program. They jumped right on us when we walked in begging the kids to help out because they had like 4 primary kids. I think they were quite overwhelmed at first but ended up all being willing and Harvey actually read a pretty long part! I was proud of them and it was a cool experience.

Then Tanner and Harvey went off to an NFL game and the girls and I swam and then got lunch and went to the beach. It was a bit windy and chilly so not AS great as maybe it could have been but we had a great time finding shells.

We had originally decided to do California adventure, Disneyland, then California Adventure - thinking kids would have more fun but after most of the day there - tons of fun rides - but still, we kind of hit everything we wanted. So we ended up changing to do 2 days in Disneyland. I think it was a good call.

It was such a great day. Minus I probably messed up and took the kids on a scary ride pretty early on - the Avengers. So after that Greta was freaking out over everything. She threw the hugest fits about every ride and then realized they were kind of fun. It was a bit frustrating and patience trying at time but overall it was a magical day. Lottie was crazy brave and fun and Harvey was loving everything too. The favorite was probably goofy's sky school and lottie also LOVED soarin'! We had a little bit of nerves with Harvey too on the big rollercoaster so that was kind of a bummer he didn't try it but it was pretty dang fun. I wish I could have done it a couple other times. We also loved the spider man ride.
These aren't all in perfect order but you get the idea. Long day, lots of walking, lots of fun, lots of exhaustion after.

Finished the night off with one more goofy sky school. Then watched the color/fountain show for a little bit. It was really cool but we were all so pooped and didn't have a great spot so we didn't stay for the whole show.
