Harvey's first day of skiing

The much anticipated (mostly by Tanner) day has arrived! We talked about taking Harvey skiing last year but Tanner didn't even ski so it never happened. I think this was a much better year to start. When he learned he was going to get his ski stuff and go skiing, he was SO excited. Until the only boots that fit him had purple on them. Haha. It was funny. Kind of a pain to figure out if he was saying that he didn't like them because they hurt or were too small or big, or if it was just the small morsel of purple on them. It was the latter, but we worked through that. We got them after the Treehouse Museum on a Friday and then he went the next Saturday.

Getting psyched and learning about pizza slice the night before.
This was the first video Tanner sent to the family. 50 yards from the car and he was losing his mind saying he wanted to go back to the truck. Tanner said he put him between his legs from there and they went the rest of the way down the hill, and then he said "that was fun, dad!" Several hours later I asked if things had improved. They had - much!
He started having a lot of fun and actually was doing pretty good. He liked the lifts and the magic carpet and then Tanner sent the last video - a bit of movement but apparently Harvey didn't like when he was skiing backwards. All in all, it was a huge success and Harvey loved it and wants to go again! He told Tanner he was going to go with him "on the next ski mission". Haha. It's in his blood - he doesn't have any choice BUT to be a skiing Niederhauser :) Seeing all the videos and everything though, made me really want to go. I'm not very good and haven't been for years, and haven't missed it too much, but after they went I realized I wanted a turn too. And I was a bit sad not to be there for his first day, but Tanner documented it well and they both told me all the stories. And I had fun napping with the girls. Ha. Sleep is my good time these days :)
