Misc January

We went with our friends Laura, Crew and Lucy to the Kangaroo zoo towards the end of the winter break. They mostly had fun. Lottie can be a bit of a pill sometimes :) And I didn't take tons of pictures but it was definitely worth going and they still keep asking to go back.

We also attempted a little potty training for this girl. I really thought it was going to go smoother. She's so smart, understands so much and communicates so well. We have issues with her pooping. I think she has been traumatized but some pretty bad constipation in her past and so now squeezes her cheeks to hold the poop in. But ends up pooping like a tiny amount - enough that stinks and needs to be changed. So she'll do that like 10 times in a day or two while we try to work it out. I try to use lots of benefiber or mirilax to make it loose enough she can't hold in. But I was hoping that potty training would be good to try and fix the problem. I expected some challenges with pooping...but we had some big challenges even with peeing. She figured out the sensation pretty quick but then wouldn't go pee. She'd feel it come out a little and stop it - great - but then we'd sit on the pot and she wouldn't go. She'd try to squeeze that in and hold it and then cry when it came out. We were going through dozens of unders because she'd just keep getting a little bit of pee in each one and then never empty her bladder. I woke up sick the day of or day 2 of and when she kept doing the same thing I was just having visions of Harvey SCREAMING when he peed in the toilet and just realized I didn't have it in me. I had visions of this taking so long with so many accidents and a lot of torture on both ends. So...

We are back in diapers. Ugh. Made it just over 24 hours. Maybe it would have been better if I had pushed through and the light would have clicked - but I just had too many doubts and fears of if it was this bad with pee I couldn't even picture the pooping issues. No rush to do it really other than I HATE the pooping a thousand times and such. So maybe we'll just keep working on helping her poop in her diaper and when she's a little older try again. Bleh.

I was in charge of making our little bulletin board for Primary this year. I like it. I love the new youth theme song, Go and Do -  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeGC8lS20d8 That and some ideas from the primary president kind of inspired this. Plus the primary theme song is called "I will walk with Jesus". So there you go. All the kids colored their own footprints and it turned out pretty cute I think.

Adorbs

Tanner humored a ice cream craving during an every other off diet week. -eye roll-  So we went to Nelson's with the kids :)

And a 40 degree January day calls for the park. We met some friends that we met through swimming lessons - Melissa, Stockton and her other daughter that I can't ever remember her name. Ha. We don't do much with them but should. They are fun!

Getting some fun aunt tending time in.

My mom watched my kids on a Thursday so I could go to the temple and got to take Greta to dance. Greta was pretty excited about Grammy getting to watch her dance.

We organized another after holiday Wilding gathering. The turn out this year (our second annual one) was WAY better. We had so much fun hanging out and chatting and people playing volleyball and kids running around with tons of other kids. Definitely a tradition I'm gonna make sure keeps happening!

I feel like a horrible mom - but we really didn't capitalize on the snow days this year. I REALLY wanted to take the kids sledding but that never happened. And we rarely got bundled up to go out and play and I hardly went out with them at all. Oh well. Maybe next year...

Got a call from the school that Harvey fell at recess and was bleeding and sad and didn't want to go back to class. So I went "early" to pick him up but we just ended up waiting in the car till Crew got done because it was only another 15 minutes. Poor little bud.

Harvey really did kill it on some snow shoveling help. I'm impressed with how much he helped a few of the snow storms we got.

This little girl was not feeling good for a few days. It was sad.

Luckily Lottie and Harvey didn't ever really get whatever she had. But Lottie sleeps funny and cute too.

More passing out randomly because of fever and wore out.

Just because he's cute.

Had a movie night with Laura C. while Tanner was out of town and Harvey was having a hard time not being a part of it so I told him he could sleep on Dad's side. He said he was going to sleep on my side. When I got up he had apparently decided to just take both sides.

We decided to hit up the Jordan World Circus again. It was a lot of fun! Harvey is ticked in this picture because we didn't buy him a stupid light up toy that he wanted. Ugh. The fits over dumb stuff and worthless toys and crap get sooo old. Does this happen to other kids or is mine just abnormally obsessed with "stuff"!?

Doing baby shark. One of her fav's!

I love this one of her!

Vienna was doing her birthday sleepover with Gram and Pop so she got to come too!

Haha

A super helpful companion to our trip to the eye doctor for Tanner to get some new specs.

We crashed a party at my mom's house with my cousin Allison and her family. It was so fun. They are great. Kids had fun playing together and we had some fun playing games :)
