We love the Banff Film Festival. Brooke and I started going many many years ago and since we've moved back we've tried to hit at least one night out of the 3-4. They usually do something called Radical Reels - which is like a evening of just some fast paced, high adrenaline sports videos and usually are a lot shorter. I thought Harvey would love it and Brooke wanted to take Garrett too. So we planned it. It's kind of a funny story - She bought tickets just for her and I and the boys. I thought I had said Tanner wanted to go...but it was just a miscommunication. So then there was a lot of stress about what we were going to do and she felt bad, unnecessarily, and ended up mailing us the tickets. So Tanner, I and Harvey could go and maybe find one other person. Well, the night before it was supposed to be I thought it would be a good idea to just buy one extra ticket - so we all paid - and then Harvey could just sit on my lap. It was our most brilliant idea yet - since all the other scenarios we tried to figure out didn't feel right. So that was the plan. I ended up ordering one over the phone during the afternoon at work same day. Brooke had bought the tickets at REI a week or more before. So...we made it to Kingsbury and all started walking towards where her tickets were. I pulled out my ticket that I bought separately just out of curiosity. It was literally THREE seats down from were the other 4 were. So we just all sat there and asked everyone else to shift one and it worked perfectly! I couldn't believe it. AND THEN...I ended up winning the grand prize...well...I'm not sure if it was the grand prize but it was the last one they gave out. I had just got done telling Harvey that I never win anything - because he asked if they were going to call our number. It was sooo funny. Everything about the situation and that ticket was just great. Oh - the prize was 2 tickets to every show next year!! The only bad thing was it was just a regular night of Banff - no the radical reels - so it was pretty slow and boring for the kids. Oh well ;)
Just posing cause she likes to and she's cute and to show Grammy the cute dress Gram bought her.
Tanner tried to get a pic of the kids cuddling watching a movie one night while I was working but Harvey turned around too fast and he got this. Still cute :)Another pose. She told Tanner she tucked it in because it looks cooler. Haha.
We went to the park with Laura and Crew and Lucy one day and these are the only couple pics I took.
We've walked along the Lagoon trail a few times and they have a bunch of birdhouses along the path. We thought it would be fun to make our own and go take and hang them. I found some little kits at the dollar store. We were going to do it outside but it was too windy so Laura braved letting us do it inside.
I need to get a picture of the finished product. We still haven't made it to hang them up. Weather. Quarantine. Etc.
Another park day. We met up with my mom and dad who were watching Ben's kids and we played at the park for awhile. It was CHILLY but the kids had a blast all playing together!
Precious :)
While my parents were still watching Ben and Julie's kids, we had second Sunday supper. Laura and her fam came too. It was fun. Kids played great. Food was good :) Adi took these pictures of Greta.
This was actually right before we kind of got more quarantined and told to social distance. But it was right after the first couple of cases got announced in Utah. There was MASSIVE panic shopping going on. I went to the store in the afternoon to grab some things we needed and to stock up a little bit. The store was packed but I didn't realize how packed until I had already spent a half hour winding up the produce and bulk side. When we got to the back I realized there were like 4 different lines that were all winding around to the very back of the store. It was lunch time. The kids were already about to lose it. And the line was going to take ATLEAST an hour or more. I ended up ditching my cart full of stuff. I felt really guilty but there was no way I could stay in line that long with the kids. So this pictures is actually at like 2:00am after I got off work. There were still quite an impressive load of people. And there were obviously less lanes open but I still waited in line for about 15 minutes. CRAZY stuff.
Playing at Laura C's house.
This picture is just too adorable.
Some artwork by Greta.
Harvey reading books to the girls. Love it.
Clare and Berrie bought a new camper and the day they got it Bruce and Marlene were passing through town on their way to St. George. We asked if they all wanted to go to dinner. We ended up going down to Rio Grand in the camper. Haha. Pretty fun!
St. Patrick's Day!! That little leprechaun left the kids a little scavenger hunt. I only took a few pictures. There were probably 6-7 places they had to find clues. They aren't the best searchers. Ha. It was fun though!
Taa daaa!
I attempted for about 30 seconds to make clover shapes. It obviously wasn't going well. They got round ones.
We met Laura and her kids in Ogden for a little hike. It was a perfect length and everything for the kids. They had a great time!
Then my parents came up for corned beef and cabbage, treats and games.
The kids couldn't decide on a movie together so they each got their own. Haha. It kept them entertained so we could stay up and play games!
We tried to do some online dance classes since EVERYTHING is shut down. It didn't go very well. Greta had very little interest. And we haven't tried again since.Trying to do a few things to keep things interesting. They played with these and almost immediately after they got going, Harvey's green balloon popped and he was NOT happy about it. I guess I blew them up too big. So much for that idea. Just kidding - it actually did provide quite a bit of entertainment.
Sleeping beauty!
And the ever present crazy sleepers.
I did do a cool mom thing and we went outside and went running around the block and some relay race things in the yard. Harvey went and got the weights. His shirt always has to come off when he's exercising. It was so funny. There were a couple good videos of him and Greta running around the yard. We ran around the medium, the big and then the little block. Harvey ran the whole way on all of them. He did pretty good. He can do a pretty legit few push ups now too. Still a SQUIRT thought!
Cute little love notes left on our door from Nat and Preston and kids. So sweet :) Quarantine is stupid.
A lovely lounge "chair" for movie watching, don't you think?
