Another fun month has come and gone. I can't believe it's October and Halloween time. Every time I see Halloween decorations up, I feel like they are so out of place. It's weird. But...September was great. All of Lottie's random pictures get put in here now since she's all grown up now :( Here she is hanging out in the tub to keep her contained and entertained while I got ready for a date.
We tried out a new sushi place downtown, Sapa. It was amazing. Then we wandered around downtown and it was a beautiful night with awesome company. He's so handsome.
There will always be sleeping kid pictures, I think.
The Saturday before Labor Day was the annual Burningham Golf Tournament and I got to watch all the kids while everyone else golfed. Honestly, I think I got the better bargain. I really suck at golf these days and usually get more frustrated than I should. We had a great time and Romy and Ivy were super helpful. And yes - I did cram all 9 kids into the car and drive them to a park (that was like a mile away).
And I fed them chips and fruit snacks.
I never take as many pictures at Tanner's family things because I feel weird. This is all I got. They always have a bbq at Dirk and Jeannie's after golf with great food and swimming. Greta only went in once without a puddle jumper and Tanner jumped in after her. Freak. Our kids.
Somersault into the coffee table. Ouch.
Labor day morning we went up and watched Romy mtn bike race. We would have liked to see Mitt race too, but he was way later in the afternoon and I had to work that night. Harvey somehow finagled his way into becoming owner of this. That kid...
We came home and let kids nap, did some yard work and then went to Cherry Hill. Last day they were open and a holiday so it was a little busy but that didn't stop the kids from having a blast!
The day after Labor Day was Harvey's first day of preschool. We went with a different one this year because as awesome and amazing and close and convenient and cheap and great as his other one was, she said the curriculum was exactly the same...and I just had a feeling that we should change it up. I didn't want him to get bored with school only his second year going. He doesn't get the outside play time but they move through several rooms throughout the day. Story room, art, music, a big dance room where they can run around and play games, and their home room. So far I think it's really been good. I asked him if he liked this one more or Miss Sharon's more and he said he liked both. One morning he told me he didn't want to go...but we still did. When I picked him up, as we were holding hands back to the car, he said "I like school, actually!" I hope he's kind and I hope kids are kind to him and he makes friends and loves it all year. He is such a sweet heart and special little guy. I love him so much.
Dad actually got to pick him up on his first day and he took him to lunch at Old Grist Mill.
My cousin's little girl and Harvey were running all over the place. Harvey kept holding her hand. It was so cute. It was also the first time he's ever done anything like that.
A project I have been meaning to do for over a year finally got done. We are the worst with projects. Anyway - I should have taken a before and after. I went through a bunch of stuff and tossed out a lot and took a bunch to the DI. Organized the closet a little better. Hung the pictures, put that white shelf together and put toys in the boxes and got rid of most of the ugly plastic ones. I'm really happy with it! Feels so good to finally check it off the list.
Just enjoying a little phone time.
Tanner woke her up to go check out a Porsche he thought he was maybe going to get to buy. She looked so dang cute and precious and had such crazy hair, I had to take a picture. Or two.
Ahhhh….Jimmy Eat World. I was introduced to them by a guy in college and fell in LOVE with them. I was pretty obsessed for awhile. They came to SL September 11 and Heather and I went. I was reminded why I love them so. Holy cow. It was so so so good. I was kind of grumpy that day and wasn't even sure I wanted to go. It did NOT disappoint. Love them.
A whole bunch of really terrible pictures of our token trip to the Dinosaur Park because no one would cooperate. Oh well. We were there. It was fun. Great weather. I love fall.
Harv getting ready for Halloween!
I can't even remember where we had gone this evening - but we stopped for ice cream, and these pictures just make me laugh.
And I found these grapes at Winco. I have never seen grapes like this before. Ever. And I'm usually pretty good with weird food or food varieties. They were ok. I wouldn't buy them again. They had a weird almost too ripe taste to them.
Love chances to babysit and play with cousins!
We took a trip to Clarke Planetarium and met my friend Steff and her two kids there. We wanted to watch the Panda 3D movie. Hudson lasted about 15 minutes. Lottie started losing it 10-15 minutes form the end (of a 45 minutes movie). Haha. First "movie" either girls had ever been in. I think we better wait awhile before even G tries the real theater out. The movie was awesome, though! So cute.
Lottie was pretty much done for good after the movie. Poor tired thing.
Root beer floats! I love how Harvey is looking at G - her purposely being silly.
All day every day now.
G getting ready for Halloween. She wanted to be a pink dancing girl. Oh my gosh she couldn't be cuter.
We had a work party at one of the docs houses up in Mtn. Green. He has a great yard and ponies and horses and was doing carriage rides and pony rides and horse rides in addition to just a fun yard, a heated pool and yummy food. It was actually a little weird and awkward for me at first to be around everyone outside work, but it was fun to see everyone in a little more casual atmosphere and meet spouses. We didn't get in the pool or do carriage rides but the kids loved the pony. If you recall - a while back we tried the pony up at Jason's and Greta wanted NOTHING to do with it. We psyched her up for it for a few days before and she kept begging to ride the "tiny one". She did and LOVED It and kept saying how she was Happy! when I said she wasn't even scared! She got one for her 30 second ride about 10 times.
This kid seriously cracks me up. He has been going through a little phase of not wanting his pillows or blankets. Goof. I really am just so grateful for our life. This blog and these random posts just make me so grateful and happy. I know I've said that before. But God is so good. Life sometimes sucks and is hard (although I haven't experienced a quarter of the challenges it seems so many people go through), but we have beautiful, healthy kids, a wonderful extended family, so many opportunities to do things and experience the world. I hope my kids appreciate it. I hope it shapes them to be happy and good as they grow up. But I mostly hope they remember what is the most important thing of all and learn to love the Savior and follow Him because they love him. Gosh. My mom heart yearns for so much for them. But mostly that. Amen :)
