Misc July

A bit of a confession...I'm in major catch up mode and am writing this mid September. Oops. It's crazy looking at these pictures because it feels like these things happened SO long ago. Look how tiny Bogey is!!Oh gosh he had the cutest face. He still has a pretty cute face but man...that puppy face and tiny-ness didn't last long enough. And Lottie is too adorable too.

We decided to go for round 2 of potty training starting July 2nd. I had 3 days off and felt like I'd be a little more ready and able and focused to give it a whirl again. And she had told my mom a few times that she wanted to go and actually went on the potty and seemed a little more interested this time.

She has done pretty good actually. Sometimes it feels like we are getting somewhere and sometimes it feels like we will NEVER have this down. She is so smart and I felt like she SHOULD be the easiest and do the best. I honestly can't figure out what the issue is with why she won't tell me when she needs to go. She'll have days when she's awesome about telling me pee and then go days and days where she goes throuh 10 undies a day. And pooping has ALWAYS been an issue. She never wants to go, never will say when, and we sit on the toilet for EVER. That has been so painful. (And hasn't really gotten ANY better now that we are actually into September). We have had some AWFUL poo accidents (Nat's house, Farmington pool, St George pool, the Isea's, etc). Ugh. I guess eventually she'll have to get it right?

I LOVE our table and umbrella! Haven't used it as much yet just cause it has been SO hot even with the umbrella it's kind of miserable.

Harvey did a week of golf lessons which he really liked but not sure how much serious "lessons" he got.

Harvey and Greta took swim lessons this summer just for 2 weeks (almost). It was the daughter of one of the docs I work with, Anna Sheffield, and her friend. They did a pretty good job I think. Next year I think Harvey needs some private lessons. But they had a lot of fun and it was a lot of torture to have Lottie sit next to the pool and not be able to get in. Next year she will take some!

And he was SOOOO excited to swim across the pool by himself. That was his goal by the end of it and it was so awesome seeing him do it and fist pump the air after and to be so proud of himself. I loved that so much.
A fun little swim day at Laura's...

We just had some GOOD hair days at church that I was loving. Haha.

Apparently we took extra sleeping pics this month. Haha.

We had to delay the poop prize for a long time because she kept pooping her pants even after getting her stickers. And by now she would have not a single toy in her room if I took a toy away for every poop accident. Ugh.
We just made it to the surf and swim once this summer but man oh man we had fun! We were there for over 4 hours. The kids had a blast. It was a perfect day!

We were going to have a pineview day with the Nat's but the weather was kind of windy and cool and I wimped out and so we went to a park in Bountiful instead. Which was really fun but the lake would have been more fun...if the weather had cooperated. We never made it up there again with everyone.

I finished 100 days of no sugar towards the end of July. It was really hard until about day 70 ish. Haha. Well not every day was super hard but it was hard. I could still eat other stuff and so probably over compensated on chips and bread and pasta. But I mentally felt a LOT better so that was a win. I actually did it another 2 weeks and kind of thought I should just keep going but then I didn't. Started off slow with a bite or two of cookie dough which led to a cookie which led to more and then back into my regular rut of dessert 3-8 times a day. Haha. Except not that funny. The cycle and battle of my food and eating demons is less than pleasant. I like to think that I'm learning a little along the way and making some progress, even if it's as unrecognizable as a tree growing.
I finally pulled the trigger on something I've been wanting to do for a long time! New beds! I wanted something like this for Harvey so we had more space to store junk and more space to play. It feels more like a kids room and he loves it. And so do I.
Greta slept under him the first night :)
Heather dragged me up Malan's Peak. It was so fun with her. It was a tough hike but so great!

We had a 24th of July party on the 25th with the Nieder's. It was a lot of fun. Swimming, playing, eating and fireworks!

Laura came over for a little swim party day. It was fun but they weren't as interested in the pool as I was expecting.

I was trying to get her to smile and she made a funny face and said that's the way she wanted to look. She's a goof.

My chaco's broke in Fish Lake and Tanner surprised me with these new ones. So nice. And good taste. I love them.
We met Brooke and her boys up in Park City to play at the mountain bike course and the abba abba do park  (as Lottie called it and remembered it when we first pulled into the parking lot). It was a really fun day. Didn't take any biking pictures though. That's atypical.

Tanner got me to go golf with him one Tuesday night. It was blowing so hard when we first got there...I was not very excited. But then the wind calmed down and it was fun. I could see why people like the sport. The course is beautiful and just wandering along chatting and then hitting a ball is really fun. Except for the fact that I suck really bad and it's frustrating so then I don't like it. haha. I need a few lessons.

It was my turn for a date with Greta in July. She wanted to get pedicures. So we walked to the place near our house (maybe not the best idea. It was hot) and got our nails done. Then walked to Smith's and picked a treat.
She can be the biggest sweetheart and cutie. It was fun with her!

Last night in the crib!!!! Crazy. I ordered a bed about the same time we got Harvey's but it didn't come for a little bit. I put it all together one day while Harvey and Greta were somewhere playing. It was kind of a pain but Lottie and I had fun :)

They love it! And it's really fun to have their room a little more situated for them too. I'm really happy with how it all turned out!
