Cross E Ranch

We kind of threw this activity together last minute. Laura and her kids and me and mine and my mom and dad had a free Monday evening and we hadn't made it to a pumpkin patch yet and so we tried out Cross E Ranch. The weather was supposed to be good but when we got there it was kind of raining a bit harder than would have been ideal. My dad and Laura had already paid and gone in and he had already paid to reserve our own firepit so we bundled up and went for it. First stop was the little tractor train.

I included both these pictures because it's funny to me. Can't get all eyes open at once.

Then we made our way over to the corn pit, which was covered. We played there for awhile while it rained a bit longer.

After a quick prayer :) - the rain stopped! Everything was pretty wet, but it wasn't raining anymore and didn't feel quite so cold. Yay!
This thing was soaked and it had a sign to not jump when wet, but we went for it any way. Lottie even did miraculously well walking across all the uneven-ness. She got pretty wet eventually.

Then wet muddy slides. It was pretty fun. Greta went down with pop first and then tried it a couple of times by herself. One she got going down pretty fast and my dad captured a good picture of her face. She was loving it until she got a bit fast. Harvey's picture is funny because the wetness just slowed down his. It was awesome cause he started yelling and cheering as he started and it took him forever to pop out of the tube. He made a pretty funny face.

I helped Logan go down too, and he was going kind of slow and was doing fine until some punk kid blew by me and just barreled down the slide and ran into him and knocked him down so he went down sideways and tipped over. Stupid kid.
Lots of fun photo ops :)

You could rent this whole grassy area with a gas firepit for only $20. We had it to ourselves the whole night. They got us a little wood fire going too and we roasted hot dogs and eventually some s'mores on it too. It was so fun, just hanging out there and the ambience and everything.

Hay ride out to see some of their cows.

My mom met us after she got off work.
Then they took the kids on a hayride again.

Too fast moving but they wandered back to the corn pit all holding hands and it was so cute.

One last corn pit hurrah!

We picked out a few pumpkins in the dark and then headed home. Overall, it probably would have been a bit more fun if it was warm and dry, but then it would have been a lot more crowded. The pay off was great. And the firepit was awesome. We decided this is going to be a tradition!
