Misc October

We had a lot of other activities in October that got their own separate blog posts. So this one is fairly brief compared to some. Lots of dance pictures and hanging with my friend Laura and her family. Love doing that. I love that our kids get a long so well. They have to, we decided. Cause we have to stay friends forever.

I never thought I'd love having a kid in dance as much as I do. And it has nothing to do with that it's dance. It has everything to do with how much it's helped Greta grow and break out of her shell and do hard, scary things AND how much she loves it and gets excited to go. That makes me so happy.

We love that Lucy is in her class too! She is SOO cute.
Park day with Laura and fam and only a few pictures.

Gosh these girls together is just the cutest thing.

Poor Crew was sick on his birthday and so his party had to be cancelled. She repeated it the day I went hiking with Brooke. Laura was so awesome to take Harvey to it all. Arctic circle after school and then to the Rush Funplex. He had a blast! (Oh - and it was pajama day at school and apparently the boys didn't want to change into regular clothes. Haha).

Crazy hair day at school! Harvey's request was the mohawk and I was pretty excited I got it to stay up!
And she just wanted her picture because.
And why not Lottie too!?
A little more yard project pictures. This was a huge pain to get all this stuff out but I think we are officially ready to do the project. It's still probably not going to be until spring though...

I volunteered in Harvey's class and they do the pledge of allegiance every day. And it was too cute seeing him stand there and do it, I had to take a picture.

More dance and the McDonalds after.

I helped him draw the basic outline for this dinosaur and then he did all the rest. I think it's so cute. And no matter what way I rotate this prior to uploading this it keeps making it be upside down and I'm sick of trying to fix it.

Wanting to pose after trying on her costume. She's the best poser ever.
My parents got us tickets to Desert Star. We saw Adaam's Family Reunion. Pretty funny and definitely a fun evening out!
See - cutest poser ever. And she wanted the back too (She wanted the back of the witch costume too but I didn't include that). We just cut a good several inches off her hair - it's weird to see it so long here.

Figuring out the selfie game :)

Hand me down tent that they were pretty excited about.
Park day with my friend Chris Anderegg. Didn't take any pictures except the cute matchy girls matchy swingin.
And how ADORABLE is this!? Geez la weez.

And this...
And this too...she is a GREAT cheeser!
Dance fell on Halloween. She got to wear her costume. It was sad though because the trim on the bottom tore and she was SOOO sad. It made me so sad and I almost cried for her. Man, it's hard to see kids hurting. I think the emotional hurt of kids is 100x harder to handle. She got over it though and all is well :)

Halloween

This is just kind of a conglomeration post of all Halloween related activities :) I think we got some fun things in. We started out with Pumpkin Nights. Brooke and I took our kids (sans Lottie) last year and it was SOOO fun. We loved it so much we really wanted to go again. The husbands (and Lottie) joined this time. It was fun still. But not quite as incredible as it felt last year. A lot of the stuff was the same. But still festive and fun. I think the kids liked it a lot but we probably won't do it again next year.

We squeezed in our pumpkin decorating the Sunday before Halloween. I picked up some extra shifts in October and so it kills the night time activities. We did it in between church and me leaving for work. LUCKILY they all decided they wanted to paint them - which was messy but not nearly as much effort as cutting and scooping and carving.

Lottie's

Harvey's

Greta's
Happy Halloween! Harvey had a fun party at school where he got to wear his costume and Greta got to wear her costume to dance. We wanted to get going pretty early for trick or treating just because we were wanting to get up to Park City and it was a COLD day! We were going to trick or treat in Park City but Harvey freaked out that we weren't going to be home to trick or treat and to hand out candy. So we waited. And then he fell asleep right before we were supposed to get going. And he did NOT feel good. Greta had been sick with croupy cough and then when he woke up he was complaining of his stomach hurting. He still really wanted to go so we got ready and he put on a happy face. He got pretty disappointed when the first few houses we tried weren't home. And he wanted almond joys and they hadn't made an appearance. So he was grumpy and whiny but mostly I think it was all because he was sick. So he only made it to a few houses and wanted to come home. Then he crashed on the couch and I don't think he hardly handed out any candy :(  BUUUT - on the other hand - Greta was SOO into it. She was LOVING it and running from house to house and just wanting to go. Lottie was super cute too and was quite excited about it and great about going up to the door and saying trick or treat. I had a lot of fun with them for the 45 minutes we were out. I think next year will be fun :)

We didn't even teach her about sorting candy. It must come naturally ingrained when we are born. Haha. I guess she's not really "sorting" though...
Soon after we got pj's on and food in the belly's we headed up to Park City. Harvey puked at Tanner's work and was complaining of stomach hurting. Such a bummer. The condo was pretty small - comparing it to when we've stayed at Park Plaza. But we had a separate room from the kids which was nice. Poor Harvey was just so sick.
This is the worst picture but it was so cute of them all cozy. We watched a movie in the morning and then went to go swimming when Lottie napped. Harvey was not feeling good and only lasted a little bit. He crashed for most of the afternoon so we were lazy and watched more movies.

Feeling crappy but managed to muster up a cute smile. Sweetheart.

We did get ourselves out of the condo to go shop at the outlets - or Carter's. We got a few things for kids. Some church shoes and a few other things they kind of needed. Then dinner at Cafe Rio. Then fro yo - which was kind of a bust. I thought I made them tiny yogurts but they still ate probably a 1/4th of what we paid for. Then we went back and Greta and Lottie and I went and swam while Harvey and T watched another movie. It was nice to be lazy and fun to get out. Sad Harvey was so sick. He was feeling a lot better by the time we went to dinner so that was nice.

That same afternoon we had our annual Stoddard Halloween party. My parents are so cool. I LOVED their costumes. We had homemade pizza's and kids played and it was just a great time all around. Here's a random sampling of the evening.

I had to include all 3 of these pictures (I think there were actually a few more) - Greta's face is just too beautiful. She looks so dang cute and I wanted to save all the subtle variations.
