Random summer activities part 1

I did some weird organizing of my pictures this summer and ended up dumping a lot into a miscellaneous folder - misc activities and misc of the kids. So I am dividing our mostly family activities into two blogs and then we'll see what happens with the rest of the kids ones...I have a LOT of those. Oops. I think from now on I decided we'll just do a miscellaneous month. But here's the first batch. Got a few little family golf sessions in. Greta hasn't quite figured it out - she mostly likes to just carry the club and ball around and pick up balls that aren't hers or pull out the flags, etc. Harvey got a couple new clubs this year too, which is fun. He's gone quite a few times with Tanner. I only joined a couple.

Finishing off the hard work on the course with a little Baskin Robbins...
She looks so little!

We celebrated Millie's birthday and they had lots of fun outside activities and the kids had a blast, as always at their place and with cousins!

Father's Day breakfast before I went to work and snuggles while at work...

A little hike with the kiddos on the Bonneville Shoreline trail just up from our house. So fun. Harvey was a stud. And Greta hiked a good chunk herself too.

Little beauty

Always has to stop to play in the dirt

A little In and Out with my mama before we went to the Air Force Museum. Harvey decided not to eat anything and then decided he was hungry at the museum and was kind of a whiny pants so it wasn't QUITE as enjoyable as it could have been. Plus both kids were pretty tired. Oh well, we tried.

More golfing.

We had a couple pool parties at Mimi and Papa's pool.

And a few trips to the local Hawaiian shaved ice place. Oh man. SO dang good!
He's kind of ridiculously handsome.
And we had some visitors from one of our FAVORITE families in North Dakota, the Merkley's. We got to meet their youngest and see how much her boys had changed in the couple of years it had been since we saw them. They live in Texas now and it's much too far. Emily was a much needed friend there and is the best kind of person. I learned so much from her about kindness and service and friendship.

And a short attempt at Bonneville Shoreline again. It was a bit later in the evening and so the kids were kind of tired. Mostly Greta. So we cut it a bit short, which Harvey wasn't happy about. Sometimes we have the best intentions and really want to try and do fun things with the kids, and sometimes I wonder if it's ALWAYS worth. Sometimes it just feels forced and then painful. Ha. Hopefully it helps everyone in the long run :)

This looks like he's crying or quite upset, but it was what I captured when I told him to smile.
