There was a nice Saturday in our horizon that I didn't work. I really wanted to get out with the kids somewhere. I considered a hike, but then saw something about an Earth Day Celebration at the Ogden Nature Center. I had been wanting to take the kids there anyway. Tanner had a golf tournament that day and Shane was gone so it was a perfect sister outing opp. It was actually REALLY fun. Great weather. It was crowded but it was fine. They had a cool walkway from the parking lot to the main area that was lined with different birdhouses that had been submitted. There were some REALLY cool ones. I didn't take too many pics of them. The kids LOVED them. The whole walk, everyone was saying to each other "look at this/that one!!!"
They had this big display and taught about erosion with it. It was cool. I don't think Harvey heard or listened to anything - he just was happy to play in sandy stuff and water.
Earth art projects.
Harvey was SO excited about the prospect of face painting. Greta did awesome and sat SO still and was so excited about her butterfly. And Harvey picked a helicopter which was really cool. Sorry - there's a lot of pictures of these. They are just too cute.
I love her eyes just watching the lady. |
This thing was so cool. This girl has some type of traveling thing where she brings a bunch of donated items (aka junk) and lets kids go to town with creative play. It was awesome. Harvey played here forever and flew a rocket to space among other things. His "helmet" haha!
We enjoyed cupbop from the sideline.
Menchies treat from auntie :)
And birdhouses on the way back :) They have about 1.5 or so miles of trails through their nature area but girls were getting restless so we didn't do that part. Next time :) Happy Earth Day!
