St. George - Gunlock Falls

Gunlock Falls. Brooke read about this place on a Utah adventure blog thing. Apparently the water from the Gunlock reservoir only overflows like once every 25-30 years. And it looked like it would be super cool so we decided to go check it out after church on Sunday. So did about 800 other people. It really was incredible. Water just dumping off in all random places. There were probably 15 different falls or more.  It would have been so cool to see it with less people and the chance to just jump around with more isolation. But I guess when it's super uncommon, lots of people will be there. A weekend in spring with spring break travelers I'm sure didn't help. But it was fun. Greta had fallen asleep right before we got there so was SUPER grumpy and didn't want to walk at all at first. Lottie didn't want to be carried. Again. it was a short hike to the rocks and then we clambered up them. Harvey got a little nervous next to the falls and some minor drop offs but we worked through all the issues and it mostly was just a cool thing. Definitely worth seeing!

Still not having it.

And still.

We got to the top and got to explore around a little bit and Harvey started have more fun and we took the girls shoes off so they could splash and throw some rocks. We were about to leave before that but then they enjoyed that moment so we stuck around a bit longer and that was fun. It wasn't a place conducive to letting littles run around.

Love this picture!

Love this one too!

And then we found some sand. And no one was ready to be dragged away from that. Especially Lottie. Love her!

Miss independent - HAVING to walk. This was about 2 minutes before she face planted in the dirt and scratched her forehead and had dirt and rocks up her nose and in her mouth. Oops.
